The Cornish Islands are two snow-covered islands in Hanusse Bay off the west coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . A reef rock lies between them and they are 6 km south of Liard Island .
Aerial photographs of the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948) and the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition (1956–1957) were used to map them. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it after the British geographer Vaughan Cornish (1862-1948), who pioneered the various forms of snowdrifts between 1901 and 1914.
