Corriverton is the easternmost city of Guyana . It is located in the province of East Berbice-Corentyne at the mouth of the Corantijn in the Atlantic . Corriverton is an amalgamation of the former cities of Springlands and Skeldon . A ferry connects Corriverton with the Surinamese border town of Nieuw-Nickerie on the other bank .

According to the 2012 census , Corriverton has 11,386 residents. The mixed population consists mainly of Hindus, Christians and Muslims and the architecture of the city is also characterized by its temples, churches and mosques.
economy
The area around the city is characterized by coastal agriculture with the cultivation of sugar cane and rice as well as cattle breeding. These products are traded in the city.
