Corryocactus chachapoyensis is a species of plant in the genus Corryocactus from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet chachapoyensis refers to the occurrence of the species near the Peruvian city of Chachapoyas .

Corryocactus chachapoyensis forms loose, spreading shrubs. The shoots are up to 80 centimeters long and have a diameter of 2 centimeters. There are eight to 13 ribs . Of the several yellow thorns , one is longer and stronger.

The yellow flowers are 2 to 4.5 inches long and have the same diameter.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Corryocactus chachapoyensis is in the Peruvian region of Amazonas common. It was first described as Cereus brevistylus in 1999 by David Richard Hunt . A synonym is Cereus chachapoyensis Ochoa & Backeb. (1959, nom. Invalid ICBN -Article 34.1, 37.1).

Corryocactus chachapoyensis is not well known.

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
