Coryphantha glanduligera is a species of plant in the genus Coryphantha from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet glanduligera is derived from the Latin words glandula for 'gland' and -ger for 'supporting'.

description

Coryphantha glanduligera grows individually. The club-shaped, dark blue-green shoots reach heights of up to 12 centimeters with a diameter of 6 centimeters. The conical warts , up to 14 millimeters long, stand loosely together. The axillae and furrows bear white wool and showy nectar glands. The three to four awl, whitish or gray central spines are pointed reddish and 1 to 2 centimeters long. The lowest of them is curved inwards, the upper ones are spreading. The 15 to 20 gray to white, 0.9 to 1.7 centimeter long radial spines are needle-like and stiff.

The yellow flowers are up to 4 centimeters long and reach a diameter of 7 centimeters. The large fruits are green.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Coryphantha glanduligera is distributed in the Mexican states of Hidalgo , Guanajuato and Querétaro on slopes with limestone gravel.

The first description as Mammillaria glanduligera by Christoph Friedrich Otto was published in 1848. Charles Lemaire placed the species in the genus Coryphantha in 1868 .

Nomenclatory synonyms are Echinocactus glanduliger (Otto) Poselg. (1853) and Cactus glanduliger (Otto) Kuntze (1891). Coryphantha bergeriana Boed is included in the species as a synonym . (1929).

Coryphantha glanduligera is in the endangered Red List species the IUCN as " Least Concern (LC) ", d. H. not endangered, classified.
