Coryphanthawohlschlageri is a species of plant in the genus Coryphantha from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet Wohlschlageri honors the Austrian cactus collector Michael Wohlschlager (* 1936) from Moosbrunn .

Coryphantha Wohlschlageri grows individually, but sometimes branches dichotomously . The spherical, dark green shoots turn olive green with age. The plants reach heights of growth of 3 to 5 centimeters and the same diameter. The up to 13 millimeters long warts are egg-shaped to short conical in shape. The axillae are bare. The mostly single central spine - on older areoles there can be up to four - is straight, protruding, brownish with a darker tip and 0.8 to 1.5 centimeters long. The nine to eleven whitish to brownish radiant radial spines have a darker tip and lengths of 0.6 to 0.8 centimeters.

The intensely yellow flowers are up to 4 centimeters long and 5 to 6 centimeters in diameter. The cylindrical, olive-green fruits are up to 1.9 centimeters long.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Coryphanthawohlschlageri is widespread on gravelly slopes and plains in the Mexican states of San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas .

The first description by Ernst Holzeis was published in 1990.

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
