Benedikt Burtscher
Benedikt Burtscher (* around 1660/1665 in Warth ; † 1730 in Roes ) was the court builder of Nassau-Usingen .
Burtscher can be found in Usingen since 1692. On October 15, 1694, he married Anna Elisabethe Gries in Usingen, the daughter of a trader from Lich . Nine children result from this marriage.
From 1700 Burtscher built the new town in Usingen around the Huguenot church , which was also built according to his plans. The other houses on the market square, such as the Liefrink House, also go back to his plans. After the death of Prince Wilhelm Heinrich von Nassau-Usingen in 1718, he left the city and entered the service of the Waldbott von Bassenheim . Burtscher built the Bassenheimer Palais for Count Casimir Ferdinand Adolf Waldbott von Bassenheim . In 1730 Burtscher died at Pyrmont Castle .
Benedikt-Burtscher-Strasse in Usingen was named after the builder.
