Huguenot Church (Usingen)
The Huguenot Church in Usingen , a town in the Hochtaunus district in Hesse , was built between 1700 and 1705. The profaned Huguenot church at Marktplatz 23 is a protected architectural monument .
history
Count Walrad von Nassau-Usingen had Huguenots from France settle in Usingen. For these new citizens, the Huguenot Church was built according to plans by the Tyrolean master builder Benedikt Burtscher , who also built the Usingen Neustadt around the Huguenot Church.
The Huguenot Church was used as a place of worship until the Nassau Union in 1817/18. Today it houses the city library, the wedding hall and other rooms for cultural events.

The two-storey, rectangular building has corner buttresses and is covered by a hipped roof. The octagonal stair tower in front of the market square ends with a high bonnet .
The church stands at the front of the market square . Their prominent position is emphasized by the neighboring houses Marktplatz 21 and Marktplatz 25 on the right and left .
