Cosmic Haze is a German heavy metal band.

history

The band was founded in northern Germany in 1991 as a heavy metal band under the name "Riff Raff". In 1993 the band got their first record deal with D&S Records and recorded their first CD Recently Deceased in Hattingen . Riff Raff played over 200 appearances within 4 years, including 1994 at the Wacken Open Air ( band list ), the JVA Neumünster or in the Logo in Hamburg . Since the name sounded too much like Hard Rock to the band members , but the music increasingly turned towards Thrash Metal , the name was changed in 1995 to "Cosmic Haze". The second CD Cosmic Haze was released under this name , recorded in Studio M in Celle . The CD was produced by Axel Morgan ( Running Wild , X-Wild ). The CD was distributed worldwide by Edel and has been reviewed in many specialist magazines, including a. in the metal hammer . The last joint appearance took place in 1996, after which the band members went different musical and professional paths. The guitarist Jan Potreck played in the band Juan (HH) and also founded the band Potrock. The bass player Sven Löbl then played with Endstille . The drummer also played in the band Juan (HH) at times.

The reunion took place in 2019, again under the name Riff Raff. On February 25, 2020 there was the first appearance after 24 years in the pump in Kiel. The songs "Brutal indifference", Whip of live "," Are you god? "And" One minute in my head "have been digitally distributed by the company Tunecor since 2019/2020 (partly remastered), including on Spotify .
