Kostas Ferris

Kostas Ferris ( Greek Κώστας Φέρρης , born April 18, 1935 in Cairo ) is a Greek director .

Ferris was born in Egypt to Greek parents . His father was a merchant in Cairo. In 1957 Ferris went to Athens to study film studies . His best-known work is the 1982 film Rembetiko , which received numerous awards, including a Silver Bear at the 1984 Berlinale . In 1972 he collaborated with the progressive rock band Aphrodite's Child as a lyricist on their album 666 . Among other things, he is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA) .
