Country Bear Jamboree

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Country Bear Jamboree ( English for " Country Bear Party") is a very well-known and popular theme park attraction in the United States in the form of a show stage equipped with animatronics . The attraction is now regularly performed in several Disneyland parks, such as the “Frontier Land” of Disneyland Orlando and the “ Magic Kingdom ” of Tokyo Disneyland . Until September 2001, the stage show could also be seen in "Frontier Land" at Disneyland Anaheim .

The animatronic band consists exclusively of an anthropomorphic tinged brown bear family with a total of 18 male and female characters, each "family member" has its own name, six of them "play" their own musical instruments . The bears are dressed in human clothing to match. Their style of clothing is supposed to convey the cliché impression of a typical " southern backwoods family" from the 1960s. Only the main character, Henry Bear , is dressed in an elegant tailcoat and wears a top hat and bow tie. He greets the audience and announces the show. Then the band plays and sings various songs from the field of country music . The show lasts between 15 and 16 minutes.

Country Bear Jamboree premiered on October 1 , 1971 in the Magic Kingdom of Anaheim. Because of its popularity (especially with children), a Christmas special program called the "Country Bear Christmas Special" was introduced around 1984 , and a comedy film called The Country Bears was released in July 2002 . Country Bear Jamboree may also have been the inspiration for the survival horror game series Five Nights at Freddy’s .
