Club career

Craig Thomson was born in the Scottish capital Edinburgh in 1991. In his youth he played for Heart of Midlothian , with Thomson playing in all age groups. In August 2010 the defender was able to record his first professional appearance in the jersey of Hearts in the third qualifying round of the 2009/10 Europa League season against Dinamo Zagreb . In the 2-0 win he was declared player of the game after playing for over 90 minutes. In the Scottish Premier League he made his debut against FC St. Johnstone , where the talent was again named Player of the Game. In September 2009 Thomson became Young Player of the Month in the Scottish top division. Thomson had previously received the Clydesdale Bank U-19 Rising Star in the U-19 age group. Thomson had to wait until April 2011 to score his first goal before he was able to net a penalty in a 3-3 draw at home to Tynecastle Stadium against Motherwell FC . In June of that year, Thomson made negative headlines after allegedly sexually assaulting two underage girls on the Internet . The club responded with a suspension that continues. The Lithuanian President of Midlothian, Roman Romanow , who also sponsors FBK Kaunas through Ūkio bankas, of which he is the main shareholder, decided to loan Thomson to the record champions FBK Kaunas until the end of the 2011 season . There the defender came to 14 games and 5 goals in the A Lyga . After another year in Lithuania, which he spent at FK Sūduva , Thomson moved back to his Scottish homeland in November 2012 and went to FC St. Johnstone.
