Crassula kirkii is a species of thick leaf ( Crassula ) in the family of thick leaf plants (Crassulaceae).

Crassula kirkii is a small, dense, cushion-forming, herbaceous plant that can grow to heights of up to 8 centimeters. The more or less thin shoots are upright or prostrate, thread-like and only sparsely branched. Their internodes are 5 to 10 millimeters apart. The leaves are fleshy. Your very narrow elongated leaf blade is 2 to 3.5 millimeters long. Its tip is blunt and has an attached tip.

The four-fold flowers have a diameter of 1.5 to 1.75 millimeters and are on a 1 millimeter long peduncle . Your cup is tiny. The broadly ovate to ovate elongated sepals are blunt. Their petals are as long as the sepals or a little longer. They are broadly elongated and blunt. Two to four seeds are formed per carpel .

Systematics and distribution

Crassula kirkii is common in New Zealand in the north of the coast of the Cook Strait .

The first description as Tillaea kirkii by Harry Howard Barton Allan was published in 1961. Anthony Peter Druce and David Roger Given put the species in 1984 in the genus Crassula .

Synonyms are Tillaea diffusa Kirk (1892, nom. Illeg. ICBN -Article 53.1) and Crassula diffusa (Kirk) Cockayne (1909, nom. Illeg. ICBN -Article 53.1).
