The place is about 60 km southeast of Grand Junction on the western edge of the Gunnison National Forest . The famous Black Canyon in this area is approx. 15 km to the southwest. To the west is the small airfield Crawford Airport and to the south is Crawford State Park with a 2 km² lake, on the southeastern edge of which is the cemetery of the area.
