Creighton is a town in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal . It is located in the municipality of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma in the Harry Gwala district and was the seat of the municipality of Ingwe until 2016 . Later it became the administrative seat of the municipality of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma.

In 2011 Creighton had 899 residents. The place is about 35 kilometers northwest of Ixopo .
history
The place was founded in 1865. It was later named after the maiden name of Sir Henry McCullum's wife, who was governor of Natal from 1901 to 1907 . In 1947 a Health Committee was established as the city administration.
Economy and Transport
Creighton is west of the R612 highway, which runs from Ixopo to east of Underberg , among other places . A branch line operated in freight traffic runs from Pietermaritzburg via Creighton to Kokstad . Occasionally special trains pulled by a steam locomotive run from Pietermaritzburg to Creighton under the name Eshayamoya Train Ride .
