Crest White District Anthem (Zahnpastalächeln 2) is a song by the German rapper Y-Brain . The gangster rap parody is the sequel to toothpaste smile .

Creation and publication

Crest White District Anthem (Toothpaste Smile 2) was created at the end of 2016 as a continuation of the song Zahnpastalächeln . As in the first part, Y-Brain plays with motifs from gangster rap. As part of the parody, he deals in toothpaste instead of drugs. As a musical basis, he resorted to the instrumental of Red Light District Anthem by Kollegah . The piece, produced by Alexis Troy , appeared on the Chronik 3 sampler in 2015 .

At the beginning of 2017 the video was made under the direction of Frederic Lippe. After green screen recordings were made with Y-Brain in January , filming followed in February in the Hagen city area and on the Hohensyburg . Dominik Lippe and Marco Hermann also appeared as actors. Frederic Lippe also took over the camera work and the subsequent post-production. The music video premiered on September 10, 2017 on the Family Film Factory YouTube channel .

In the late summer of 2017, Y-Brain submitted the music video for the short film competition Teeth good - all good to the company proDente. However, due to the conditions of participation, the instrumental had to be replaced first. Philipp Sonnack made a remix. Furthermore, the organizer demanded the censorship of the text " I fuck the German dentist association ", since this was involved as a partner in the competition. At the end of September, proDente presented the remix video on its Facebook page and its YouTube channel as the last of 39 candidates for its short film competition. On October 18, the entry was shortlisted for the event. The music video premiered there in November.

The television broadcaster NRWision added the original version of the music video to its media library in early 2019. On February 5, 2019 at 8:40 p.m., the video premiered on the transmitter. In the week that followed, 15 more broadcast dates followed. Under the motto “The best from the Rhineland”, NRWision showed the video again as part of its summer program. Six broadcasts took place from August 19 to 25, 2019.

On November 16, 2017, Crest White District Anthem was one of the eight finalists in the proDente short film competition. At the award ceremony in the Residenz cinema in Cologne, the music video took third place. The jury member Andreas Stenschke said that Yannic Lippe and his team deserve a prize “ for the grandiose line 'I'm not a pimp rapper, I'm Germany's only toothpaste criminal” ”. Lippe satirizes " a classic gang starap music video " and impresses " above all with clever and funny rhymes from the vocabulary of dental hygiene. “The Austrian actress Claudia Scarpatetti also praised the“ successful combination of storytelling and gang star rap image, which causes a lot of laughs ”. The e-zine laut.de described Crest White District Anthem as the “ winner of the hearts ” in addition to the “ creepy fucking winning film. "
