Cristiano De André (born December 29, 1962 in Genoa ) is an Italian multi-instrumentalist and cantautore .

Career

Fabrizio De André's son studied violin and guitar at the Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini di Genova . In the early 1980s he founded the group Tempi Duri with Marco Bisotto , Carlo Pimazzoni and Carlo Facchini , which released the album Chiamali Tempi Duri in 1985 . In the same year he appeared in the youth section of the Sanremo Festival with the title Bella più di me and won the critic's award. His first solo album, Cristiano De André , was produced in collaboration with Massimo Bubola and was released in 1987. On the album L'albero della cuccagna that followed in 1990 , Ares Tavolazzi , Ellade Bandini , Vince Tempera and Mauro Pagani were his musical partners.

He realized his third album Canzoni con il naso lungo (1992) with Eugenio Finardi . In 1993 he took part in the Sanremo Festival with the title Dietro la porta and achieved second place; he also won the Premio Volare and again the Critics' Prize. In 1995 the album Sul confine was released with Manuela Gubinelli , Daniele Fossati , Carlo Facchini , Stefano Melone , Eugenio Finardi, Oliviero Malaspina and Massimo Bubola . In 1998 and 1999 De André went on two concert tours with his father.

For his album Scaramante , released in 2001 , he was awarded the Premio Lunezia . In 2003 he again took part in the Sanremo Festival with the title Un giorno nuovo . In the next few years he devoted himself primarily to the maintenance of his father's musical legacy as part of the Fondazione Fabrizio De André . In 2009 he returned to the public as part of the show Che tempo che fa, dedicated to his father , and then went on a tour with newly interpreted songs by his father under the title De André canta De André .

On the album Per Gaber io ci sono (2012) dedicated to Giorgio Gaber , he sang the title Buttare lì qualcosa . His next album, Come in cielo so in guerra , was released in 2013 . He recorded this with Corrado Rustici , who also accompanied him on the subsequent Come in cielo so in guerra tour . At the Sanremo Festival 2014 De André won the Critics' Prize and the Premio “Sergio Bardotti” again .
