architecture
This is an administrative building erected in historical forms in 1894 on a corner plot . There are six broad axes on Croonsallee, three axes on Kaiserstraße, the corners beveled on one axis. The base of the building is clad with roughly hewn cuboids , otherwise the masonry is plastered, while the window frames and other detailed forms are placed in front of wall stones. The main form of the Croonsallee is a multi-tiered, three-axis-wide neo-baroque bay window crowned by a small gable .
A continuous window with jumping storeys and the cladding of the bay window with rough cuboids indicates that the stairwell is located here . The same staggering of gables also appears on the facade facing Kaiserstraße, but here pushed together on two axes, the bay window belongs to the work rooms. The right axis of the facade to the Croonsallee also has a tail gable , the lowest of the group of three and without a facing gable .
Due to its architecture, the Croonsallee 40 building is a vivid example of the building attitude of its time and thus also a document of the structural development of Mönchengladbach. Its preservation is in the public interest for scientific, in particular architectural, historical and urban planning reasons.
