Crosa

Crosa is a fraction of the Italian municipality of Lessona in the province of Biella (BI), Piedmont region . After Miagliano , Crosa had the second smallest municipality in the Piedmont region. With 13.9%, the municipality of Crosa had the second highest proportion of foreigners in the province of Biella. The largest group are the Moroccans, followed by the Romanians and Bosnians.

When the Kingdom of Italy was founded in 1861, the municipality had 492 inhabitants, the maximum was reached in 1881 with 618. A decline was followed by a renewed increase in 1911; after the First World War , 480 inhabitants were registered in 1921. By 1961 the number rose to 602, in the two following decades a decrease of almost 50% was recorded.

The municipality of Crosa was incorporated into Lessona on January 1, 2016 . It last had 325 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2015) on an area of ​​0.96 km². The community belonged to the Comunità Montana Prealpi Biellesi . The neighboring communities were Casapinta , Cossato , Lessona and Strona .
