The Cruz Rock ( English ; Spanish Islote Cruz ) is a large cliff rock in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is north of Canales Island and 0.42 km northeast of Ferrer Point in Discovery Bay on Greenwich Island .
Scientists of the 1st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947) named him after a member of the hydrographic surveying team active on this research trip. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2005 in an adapted form.
