Cuando toca la campana is a series on the Disney Channel Latinoamérica that premiered on February 28, 2011. The series is about the adventures of a group, during the break until the bell rings, which is the German translation of the original title of the series. The format is based on the Italian Disney Channel production Quelli dell'Intervallo , in which a group also experiences adventures during the break. Most of the time they are on the famous balcony .

The series was created as a joint production by the Disney Channel , in cooperation with Cristal Líquido Produçöes. Radio Disney presented some of the included songs before the soundtrack was released. The album became the most successful soundtrack for children in Latin America. The single "Amigas por siempre" made it to the top of the chart, over 800 million viewers saw the accompanying music video on YouTube .
Casting
Disney was looking for young actors with filming experience for a casting. Around 200 participants were cast. On February 18, 2011, Diana Santos , Jorge Blanco , Gerardo Velázquez , Stephie Camarena and Mariana Magaña became five main actors, who gave an insight into the series with some musical performances.

reception
The series received huge acclaim from its fan base on social media. The music video "Es el momento" was viewed more than 600 million times on YouTube.
Second season
In July 2011 Gerardo Velázquez announced a second season. The shooting took place in January and February 2012, the broadcast began on March 22, 2012. Diana Santos and Eva De Dominici left the cast and were not seen in the second season, Jorge Blanco only intermittently.
Recreo clip
The so-called Recreo clip was shown at the finale of Cuando toca la campana . It contains the complete plot of the second season.
