The school center Deutsch-Wagram is the area of ​​the schools in the Lower Austrian city ​​of Deutsch-Wagram . This is where the Deutsch-Wagram upper level secondary school, the new middle school, the elementary school, a community kindergarten and the school sports area are located, with the community office on the edge. About 800 students go to school here.

history

The area was originally a gravel pit, which was created for the construction of the northern railway , and lay north between the church and the old distillery. A path led from the church to the cemetery to the east outside the village (today's Sahulka Park ), today's Friedhofsallee (Schulallee) .

As the town grew, the elementary school and secondary school were established here, the kindergarten moved here, and the gravel pit became a city pond. In 2007 the school center was expanded to include the upper secondary school, and in 2013 the school sports area was opened.

Educational institutions

  • Kindergarten Deutsch-Wagram I ⊙ : The kindergarten was founded in 1928 , and - now one of five in the community - later moved to the school center. The old building is now the music school and is a listed building.
  • Elementary school Deutsch-Wagram (VS Deutsch-Wagram) ⊙ : Today the elementary school is one of the largest in Lower Austria. It has 13 regular classes, including some as an integration class , a preschool class  (VSKL) and a multi-level integration class  (MIKL). She also runs afternoon care (with around 140 students) and has been partially housed in the secondary school since the BORG moved.
  • Hauptschule / NÖ Mittelschule Deutsch-Wagram (NMS / HS Deutsch-Wagram) ⊙ : The Hauptschule is currently being converted into the form of the New Middle School , which is replacing the Hauptschule throughout Austria (this is known as the Lower Austrian Middle School , since the federal state began trying school earlier , NNÖMS). There is a school partnership with the BORG, whereby the NMS replaces the lower level of the BORG as AHS. The four levels are divided into three classes each. The school profile is focused on IT , health promotion and team orientation with interdisciplinary projects and excursions and project weeks. She also offers afternoon care.

The school area covers about 3  hectares . In the south, on Schulgasse as the access road, there are kindergarten, elementary school and municipal office, on the east edge (Bahnhofstrasse) the main school building, in the center the high school, west (Auf der Heide) the sports hall, to the northwest the pond and on the north edge the sports fields. To the north, with the tennis club, Union Halle and the house of the social welfare association, further communal infrastructure connects and closes the area. The historic Friedhofsallee (now called Schulallee ) separates the children's area from that of the young people, but all entrances within the area are kept open.

The kindergarten is a single-storey functional building with a flat roof and three pyramid roofs and has its own garden with trees. The elementary school building is closed on all sides in the manner of a square or an eastern Austrian country castle and has a single storey with an inner courtyard and is supplemented with an extension to the municipal office. The latter is a two-storey building of the Wilhelminian style neo-Renaissance , today with a glazed porch.

The main school building is a three-storey historical building with a risalit gable on the street side , which was extended into the interior of the site with several simple and purpose-oriented additions.

The subsequent new school building of the BORG consists of two separate structures, an elongated school block in the normal to the avenue and a dual sports hall. It is an example of a contemporary school architecture, planned by the architectural office franz zt gmbh (Robert Diem, Erwin Stättner) in Vienna. The elongated school section (component I) is three to four storeys high with a basement and takes up the profile slope towards the pond. It has a peculiar windowing. The sports hall (component I) is set at pond level in order to create the transition to the existing building on the opposite side, and appears squat on the higher floor level. The two parts with the white to slightly bluish graduated aluminum facade visually form a unit with the school part, but are set apart in order to get free access to the pond, which was one of the central concerns of the planning.
