In 1856 Cunersdorf came to the Kirchberg court office and in 1875 to the Zwickau district administration , whose successor is the Zwickau district . With the flourishing textile industry in the Zwickau area and the construction of the Wilkau-Haßlau-Carlsfeld narrow-gauge railway to Kirchberg, the town experienced an economic boom at the end of the 19th century.
