Toxicological data
As far as possible and customary, SI units are used. Unless otherwise noted, the data given apply to standard conditions .

Cyclopentolate is an anticholinergic agent from the group of mydriatics , which is used in ophthalmology in the form of eye drops to dilate the pupil and to paralyze accommodation . It is a racemate and a derivative of atropine that is used for the same areas of application. The effects occur more quickly than with atropine and last between 6 and 24 hours, also shorter than with atropine.

In pharmaceuticals, cyclopentolate is used as ( RS ) -cyclopentolate hydrochloride [( RS ) -cyclopentolate · HCl], i.e. as a racemate , it is a white, crystalline powder.
