Cycloprop-2-ene carboxylic acid is a fungus poison found in the mushroom species Nisekurohatsu ( Russula subnigricans ).

After eating mushrooms containing cycloprop-2-ene carboxylic acid, rhabdomyolysis can occur. The lethal oral dose in mice is 2.5 mg / kg. In addition, the enzyme activity of creatine phosphokinase increases . After polymerization of cycloprop-2-ene carboxylic acid by an ene reaction , the polymer is non-toxic.
