Cynthia Khan

Cynthia Khan , actually Yang Li-Tsing (born December 13, 1968 in Chiayi County , Republic of China ) is a Taiwanese actress and martial artist . Khan has worked in over 40 productions, most of which were made in Hong Kong and are based in the action genre. In 2003 she temporarily withdrew from the film business.

Career

Cynthia Khan studied Chinese and jazz dance . At the age of 17, she won a talent competition held on a national television station in Taiwan. Later she practiced Taekwondo , the highest level of martial arts .

In 1987 she signed a film contract. The first big movie was In the Line of Duty 3 , a box office hit and the start of her long film career as an actress in tough action films. Many sequels and films followed, many of which show Khan as a powerful young woman with a gun. One of her best-known films is In the Line of Duty 4 , which she directed by Yuen Woo-ping and starred alongside Donnie Yen , an equally famous co-star .

In other films she was a. a. the partner of famous colleagues like Yuen Biao , Simon Yam , Jacky Cheung , Anthony Wong Chau-Sang , Moon Lee , Michelle Reis , Orphan Lee or Sammo Hung .

Her stage name is a combination of the names of established Hong Kong stars who also come from the martial arts : Cynthia Rothrock and Michelle Yeoh , who u. a. also called "Michelle Khan".
