Cyril Zuma (born February 14, 1985 - September 4, 2015 in Ntuzuma ) was a South African football player .

Athletic career

Zuma was considered a great talent, but never made the big break due to problems away from the football field. He began his adult career with the Kaizer Chiefs , but in the following years he changed clubs almost every year. He came to Maritzburg United via FC Maritzburg in 2004 , then joined the Moroka Swallows and the Pietersburg Pillars , which were absorbed into the Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2007 . There he was under contract until 2008. He later played for the Nathi Lions .

Zuma was temporarily the team captain of Steve Komphela supervised South African U-23 national team . In 2005, under national coach Stuart Baxter , he took part in a trip with the South African national team to a game against Mauritius as part of the 2005 COSAFA Cup .

Zuma succumbed in September 2015 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident four weeks earlier, which resulted in him being in a coma .
