Czesław Lewandowski (born August 15, 1922 in Koło , Greater Poland , Poland ; † August 16, 2009 in Włocławek , Poland) was auxiliary bishop in Włocławek .

Life

Czesław Lewandowski was only able to start his studies at the seminar in Włocławek after the end of the Second World War. He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Włocławek on June 18, 1950 by Bishop Karol Miecislao Radonski and studied moral theology at the Catholic University of Lublin . He was active in pastoral care, catechist and later spiritual at the Minor Seminary in Włocławek and hospital chaplain in Kalisz. From 1965 he was spiritual director of the seminary in Włocławek.

Pope Paul VI appointed Lewandowski in 1973 titular bishop of Fidoloma and appointed him auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Włocławek , a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Gniezno . He was ordained bishop on April 1, 1973 by the Archbishop of Warsaw and later Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński ; Co- consecrators were Jan Zaręba , Bishop of Włocławek, and Kazimierz Majdański , Bishop of Szczecin-Kamień .

He made 565 official visits to the parishes, donated the sacrament of Confirmation to 195,225 people , consecrated 469 deacons and 87 priests, and participated in six episcopal ordinations.

In 1997, his age-related retirement application was granted.
