Dune 7 at Walvis Bay

Düne 7 ( English Dune 7 ) describes two star dunes in the Namib in Namibia .

• Dune 7 at Walvis Bay ( 22 ° 58 ′ 13 ″  S , 14 ° 35 ′ 44.4 ″  E ) with a height of about 130  m . Both the Namibia Tourism Board (the Ministry of Environment and Tourism ) and other official sources may refer to this as the tallest dune on earth.
• It seems more likely that Dune 7 not far from Sossusvlei ( 24 ° 46 ′ 40.7 ″  S , 15 ° 11 ′ 52.9 ″  E ) with 383  m is meant as the highest dune on earth. Other sources put dune 7 in 6th place worldwide.
