D.Kay , even David Kay (* 1979 ; actually David Kulenkampff ) is from Vienna originating Music -producer.

Career

David Kay gained his first experience as a singer, guitarist and live technician and eventually swapped the instruments for computers and samplers in order to devote himself to the production of electronic club music.

Under the pseudonym D.Kay, he brought out various drum and bass productions together with well-known producers and DJs from Great Britain (on labels such as Soul: r , Hardware , Bingo , Metalheadz and others) and worked with, among others, Marcus Intalex , Kasra and Black Sun Empire together. For some time he also worked with DJ Lee and released some singles such as Desire / How Much Does It Take or Manipulate the Universe (rmx) on his own label and other singles on Goldie's label Metalheadz . He released his first record at the age of 19 on the Moving Shadow label .

Together with the Viennese DJ Epsilon he released the track “Barcelona” in the summer of 2003, which reached number 14 in the British charts in a vocal version with Stamina MC (the highest chart entry for an Austrian that year). In the same year, D.Kay was named Best Breakthrough Producer at the Knowledge Awards in England . The following year it reached the UK dance charts again with the title Honey , which was again produced with DJ Epsilon, this time with MC Verse . He produced and published over 40 tracks on his labels "Brigand" and "Illskillz recordings".

As a DJ, D.Kay toured Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and released his solo album Individual Soul in 2009 .

In 2012, D.Kay said goodbye to the world of drum 'n' bass and renamed himself David Kay. He is now also internationally active as a producer, media composer and DJ and delivered remixes for Nelly Furtado and George Michael in 2012 . He also produced and co-composed Fabio Lendrum's debut EP, released on the American Big Beat Records label .

In 2013 he produced the album Smash the Parade for Steve Aoki's label Dim Mak for the Austrian EDM project Ill.Skillz .

In 2017 he was responsible for the new audio logo of the ÖBB .
