As series 706 are overhead line installation vehicles (OMF) of Deutsche Bahn AG , respectively.
The company Gleisbaumechanik Brandenburg presented this vehicle at the 1997 Hanover Fair under the name "OMF 1". Three of the vehicles were manufactured for Deutsche Bahn, which wanted to include them in the 706 series. When they were accepted, however, they were given the auxiliary vehicle numbers 97 99 10 101-103.
Frame and car body
The vehicle frame is welded together from transverse and longitudinal beams, whereby the longitudinal beams are designed for buffer joints of up to 1,500 kN . The vehicle rests on two “GPH200” bogies, each with two axles. One of the two bogies is driven, the other is just a trailer bogie. In addition to pulling and buffing devices of the standard design, the OMF 1 also has clutches and brake connections for carrying trailers of ancillary vehicle design. The car body has an outer skin made of sheet steel.
drive
This series has two different motors. A MAN -Zehnzylinder- diesel engine of the type "D 2840 LF20" with a power of 441 kW at 1900 min -1 , in the distance drive in use. For work trips up to 5 km / h is an additional hydrostatic drive with a MAN four-cylinder diesel engine of the "D 0824 LFL 06" type with a power of 89 kW at 1500 min -1 been incorporated. This motor is also used to supply hydraulic units for the lifting platform and crane as well as the air compressor.
Interior and equipment
The OMF 1 occupies driver's cabs at both ends that have their own external doors. A slewing crane is installed on a platform at one end of the vehicle in front of the driver's cab . Behind this driver's cab there is a social room that also provides access to the roof. The rest of the vehicle body is taken up by the loading space with a small workshop area, which has 5 meter wide loading openings with roller doors on both sides. On the roof there is a pantograph, a lifting platform with a work platform and a lifting device for the overhead line.
commitment
The designation as an overhead line assembly vehicle describes the purpose: the construction and modification of overhead line systems. All vehicles are used for the DB Bahnbau Group , which it has taken over from DB Bahnbau.
