The DESFA ( Greek ΔΕΣΦΑ - Διαχειριστής Εθνικού Συστήματος Φυσικού Αερίου ) is a company founded on 30 April 2007 Greek companies in the gas industry .

DESFA is the owner and operator of the approximately 1500 km long, Greek high-pressure network for the transport of natural gas and the only terminal in Greece for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Revithoussa .

In 1987 a contract was signed with the Soviet Union for the supply of natural gas, followed in 1988 by a contract for the supply of LNG with the Algerian Sonatrach . In 1992 the construction of the main Greek gas pipeline from the Greek-Bulgarian border to Attica began. In 2000, the delivery of LNG from Algeria began.

Under the privatization 2018, the majority was (66%) of the DESFA to the affiliated company SENFLUGA SA (consisting of Snam (60%), Enagás (20%) and Fluxys (20%), the shareholders of Trans-Adria pipeline are ) for 535 million euros after a deal with Azerbaijani SOCAR failed at the end of 2016. The Realization Fund for Public Private Assets (TAIPED) and the oil company Hellenic Petroleum had previously sold their shares in DESFA (31 and 35 percent respectively). The remaining 34 percent remain in the hands of the Greek state, which also provides the president.

Before the project was discontinued, DESFA was also involved in South Stream .
