DIC KK ( Japanese DIC 株式会社 , DIC Kabushiki kaisha ) is a Japanese chemical company.

DIC was founded in 1908 as Kawamura Ink Seizōsho ( 川村 イ ン キ 製造 所 , " Kawamura Ink Factory "). In 1937 the name was changed to Dainippon Ink Seizō KK ( 大 日本 イ ン キ 製造 株式会社 , English Dainippon Printing Ink Manufacturing , German "Greater Japanese ink production"), after the merger with Japan Reichhold in 1962 in Dainippon Ink Kagaku Kōgyō KK ( 大 日本 イ ン キ 化学工業 株式会社 , English Dainippon Ink and Chemicals , German "Großjapanische Eiche- und Nahrungsmittel-AG") and finally in 2008 in DIC KK 1999 the printing inks business was taken over by Totalfina . In 2009 Dai Nippon Printing and DIC founded the joint venture DIC Graphics .

Today DIC manufactures printing inks , pigments , liquid crystals , synthetic resins and polymers . In terms of organic chemicals, alkylphenols , fluorine compounds , metal naphthenates and EP additives are produced. DIC has a market share of over 30% in green and blue pigments for color filters and polyphenylene sulfides .

In 1986, DIC took over Sun Chemical Corporation from Parsippany .
