The SKL 24 track motor vehicle , also known as the Schöneweide type , was developed for track construction and track maintenance at the Deutsche Reichsbahn by the Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk Berlin-Schöneweide . It was built in the gauges of 900 mm, 1000 mm and 1435 mm . The track construction mechanics plant in Brandenburg carried out series production from 1971 .
Constructive features
The frame consists of U-shaped rolled sections with four longitudinal beams in a welded construction. The vehicle is supported by leaf springs . A foot-operated compressed air brake and a handbrake are available for braking .
The diesel engine works via the clutch and a manual transmission . The drive shaft of the gearbox is connected to the reversing gear . Both axles are driven by two chain gears.
The vehicle is equipped with a 12 V system. For starting, the two batteries are connected in series to double the voltage to 24 V.
With a coupling rod , a standard vehicle with a total mass of up to 17 t can be moved at a maximum of 10 km / h.
Starting in 1976, some of the vehicles were equipped with a loading crane of the type LDK 1250 from VEB Spezialfahrzeugbau Löbau , as it was also used on trucks of the type IFA W50 . The planning took place in the research and development plant in Blankenburg , the conversion in the plant for track construction in Brandenburg .
