DR Vocal Ensemblet

The DR VokalEnsemblet is the 18-member mixed vocal ensemble of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, founded in 2007 and based in Copenhagen .

The radio choir is led by Marcus Creed , who succeeded Olof Boman as chief conductor in 2014 . The guest conductors of the orchestra included u. a. Stephen Layton , Fredrik Malmberg , Peter Dijkstra and Paul Van Nevel . The choral repertoire ranges from early music to romantic music to contemporary music . It feels closely connected to Scandinavian, especially Danish, music. This is how Per Nørgård and Sven-David Sandström wroteu. a. especially pieces for the ensemble. The choir can be used flexibly and can be expanded by the 56 singers of the DR KoncertKoret . He worked u. a. with Concerto Copenhagen , the Malmö Symphony Orchestra and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the NDR . It also cooperates with the DR SymfoniOrkestret and the Danmarks Underholdningsorkester .

The DR VokalEnsemblet released several CDs a. a. at Dacapo Records and Naxos . In 2012 the radio choir received the Echo Klassik together with Michala Petri for the world premiere recordings of works by the composers Uģis Prauliņš , Daniel Börtz , Sunleif Rasmussen and Peter Bruun . The CD was also nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2013 . In 2015 he was awarded the Diapason d'or de l'année for the choral music recording of Messiaen's L'Amour et la Foi .
