The DSLV Bundesverband Spedition und Logistik eV , formerly the German Forwarding and Logistics Association (DSLV) eV, is the leading and federal association of the forwarding and logistics industry in Germany . Through 16 regional state associations, it represents the intermodal interests of around 3,000 freight forwarding and logistics companies, which, with a total of 605,000 employees and an annual industry turnover of over 110 billion euros, are an essential part of the third largest industry in Germany (as of July 2019).
Association structure, performance profile and guidelines
The membership structure of the DSLV ranges from globally operating logistics groups, 4PL and 3PL providers to owner-managed freight forwarding companies (SMEs) with their own truck fleets and freight forwarders for inland waterways and railways to sea freight , air freight , customs and storage specialists.
The association policy of the DSLV is largely determined by the carrier's cross-carrier organizational and control function. The DSLV is the political mouthpiece and the central point of contact for the federal government, for the institutions of the Bundestag and Bundesrat as well as for all relevant federal ministries and authorities in the legislative and legal implementation process as far as logistics and freight transport are concerned.
Together with its regional associations, the DSLV is a consultant and service provider for companies in its sector. As employers' associations and social partners , the DSLV regional associations represent the industry in regional collective bargaining issues .
The DSLV is a member of the European Association for Forwarding, Transport, Logistics and Customs Services (CLECAT), Brussels, the International Federation of Forwarding Organizations (FIATA), Zurich, and an associated member of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), Geneva. In these international networks, the DSLV also influences the development of EU law in Brussels and Strasbourg and international agreements of the UN , the WTO , the WCO and the like. a.
The DSLV supports and promotes the Logistics Alliance Germany (LAG), a public-private partnership project between the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) and the German logistics industry, which markets Germany as a logistics location abroad.
The member companies of the DSLV feel committed to the goals of the social market economy and the European Union.
