The roof mountain is a 8.4 meters above mean sea level high hill in the Rostock Heath in the area of the Hanseatic city of Rostock , in the district Torfbrücke , in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern .

The hill is about two kilometers southeast of Graal-Müritz and three kilometers from the Baltic coast. 330 meters west of the Dachsberg is a trigonometric point with a height of 8.8 m above sea level. NHN. The border to the municipality of Gelbensande is 700 meters east of the Dachsberg.

Topographically, the Dachsberg is actually not a mountain , but a hill less than ten meters above sea level. The topographical importance of the height arises from the fact that the Rostock Heath generally only has a few distinctive heights. This is why the hill is regularly shown on larger-scale topographic maps (up to 1: 250,000). The Dachsberg forms the north-eastern cornerstone of a threshold that rises south of Graal-Müritz.
