Didier Daeninckx
Didier Daeninckx (* 27. April 1949 in Saint Denis ) is a French thriller author , who is considered one of the major contemporary crime writer in France.
Classification in literary history
Daenickx is considered to be the co-founder of the new novel noir . As with many Roman noir writers, social criticism also plays a decisive role for him. With topics such as the Resistance , the collaboration of parts of the French population with the Nazis , the Algerian War , the problems of refugees in society and the deportation policy of the French state, his detective novels repeatedly trigger social debates. In 1985 Daeninckx received the prestigious Grand prix de littérature policière for his novel Meurtes pour mémoire .
The author also writes books for children and young people as well as texts for comics . Before his writing career, he was a printer, social worker and local editor. Today he lives in Aubervilliers .
