Doosan ( kor. 두산 ) is a South Korean conglomerate ( Jaebeol ).
history
In 1896 a department store with the name was founded, then Doosan initially developed into a trading company. Over time, Doosan expanded and diversified and shifted its focus - especially since the turn of the 21st century - from the field of services and consumer goods to mechanical, plant and infrastructure construction.
Today (as of the beginning of 2017) Doosan is one of the 30 largest companies in Korea and one of the 2000 largest listed companies in the world ( Forbes Global 2000 ). Around half of the employees are employed outside of Korea and over 50% of sales are generated outside of the home market.

Doosan Bears baseball team
Became internationally known name Doosan also in the field of sport by the Doosan Bears (Korean 두산 베어스 ), one of the company as a works team sponsored baseball - professional team . The bears were three times South Korean champions (1982, 1995, 2001).
