Dagmar Blei (born August 9, 1940 in Labiau ) is a German linguist .

Life

After an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker in the Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau and the special school leaving examination, Blei began studying pedagogy (German, art education) in 1959 and worked as a teacher in Sayda from 1962 . From 1964 to 1967 she worked as an assistant at the chair for German literature at the Pedagogical Institute in Dresden, and from 1966 to 1969 she took a distance learning course at the PH Potsdam . As early as 1967 she was working as a lecturer for the German language at her place of work in Dresden, which was promoted to a university of education. She received her doctorate in text linguistics at the PH Dresden in 1974 and in 1981 she completed her doctorate B - converted into a habilitation in 1991 - in the field of university didactics of German as a foreign language (DaF). In 1982 she became a lecturer for the methodology of mother and foreign language teaching German at the PH Dresden and in 1985 professor for German as a foreign language at the PH Dresden. At that time, she was the first female professor for DaF at a pedagogical university in the GDR .

In 1992 she took over the position of professor for German as a foreign language at the Technical University of Dresden and in 1995 was appointed professor for German as a foreign language. At the same time she was the managing director of the Institute for German Studies at the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature at the TU Dresden. In 2004 she retired. Blei is married and has two grown children.

Act

Blei dealt, among other things, with the history of science in the subject of German as a foreign language, with development trends in contemporary German as well as migration literature and intercultural learning. She published over 130 essays and monographs on topics such as text linguistics, language teaching and learning research, linguistics and GFL history.
