Daguerre is a lunar crater near the northern edge of the Mare Nectaris . The two better-known craters, Mädler and Theophilus, lie in a west-northwest direction . Isidoris is located in the region between the Maria .
The inside of the crater was buried by a lava flow from a crevice in the southwestern rim . This makes Daguerre appear more horseshoe-shaped than round. The floor is covered by a beam from the Maiden Crater. The highest parts of the rest of the crater rim are 1.5 kilometers high. The crater is named after Louis Daguerre .
