Dairi Ike ( transcription from Japanese 大理 池 'Marble Sea ' ) is a small lake on the Prince Harald Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located in the center of the Skallevikhalsen on the southeastern bank of the Lützow-Holm-Bucht .
Measurements and aerial photographs were taken by participants in a Japanese Antarctic expedition carried out from 1957 to 1959 . Japanese scientists named it in 1972 after a striking marble border .
