Dalli-Rajhara is a city in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh .

The city is part of the Balod district . Dalli-Rajhara has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 27 wards (constituencies).

Demographics

The city's population is 44,363 according to the 2011 census. Dalli-Rajhara has a gender ratio of 996 women per 1000 men and thus a male surplus that is usual for India. The literacy rate was 80.9% in 2011. Almost 87% of the population are Hindus , approx. 4% are Muslim and approx. 9% belong to another or no religion. Children under 6 years of age are 11.0% of the population. 17.1% of the population belong to the Scheduled Castes and 16.4% to the Scheduled Tribes .

Dalli-Rajhara is characterized by mining. There are several iron ore mines owned by the Bhilai Steel Plant . Iron ores extracted from the area are of the hematite and magnetite variety. The other mines in the neighborhood produce dolomite, lime and other raw materials that are used for steel production.
