The Dallmann Seamount is an undersea mountain in the Southern Ocean . It is located 500 kilometers north of the Eights coast of the Antarctic continent and 300 kilometers northwest of Peter I Island . Its shallowest depth is 2100 meters below sea level.
The mountain was named after the German explorer and polar explorer Eduard Dallmann (1830-1896). Dallmann explored the area west of Graham Land up to 66 ° south latitude . The name was proposed by Rick Hagen of the Alfred Wegener Institute and adopted by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features in June 1997 .
