In 1983 the association was founded under the name Esteghlal (Shardari) Rascht . It was not until the 2000/01 season that the club made it to the top Iranian league ( Iranian Pro League ) and finished tenth in the table at the end of this season. In the following season, with the signing of the experienced coach Nasser Hejazi , goalkeeper of the Iranian national team at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina , the class should be maintained and the course set for a successful future. However, it turned out differently than hoped and the club rose at the end of the 2001/02 season after a bitter defeat against Abu Moslem Mashhad (7-1). Only a short time after relegation to the Azadegan League , the club disbanded. On August 5, 2002, the Pegah Dairy Co. bought the club and changed the name to Pegah Gilan Football Club .

In the 2007/08 season Pegah Gilan rose again to the Iranian Pro League and finished in fifteenth place in the table. In addition to staying up, the club also made it to the cup final , with the final being lost to Esteghlal Tehran after the first and second leg (1-0) and (0-3) .

The club got into major financial difficulties despite being relegated and making it to the finals, which is why the start in the Iranian Pro League in summer 2008 was at risk. At the beginning of October, Amir Abedini , the owner of the mineral water company Damash Iranian , bought the license from Pegah Gilan FC and founded the Damash Gilan Football Club on October 11, 2008 . At the end of the 2008/09 season, however, the club rose again as the penultimate in the Azadegan League. In the 2009/10 season, the club missed direct resurgence, as they lost second in the play-off against Sanat Naft Abadan . In summer 2011, however, the club was the first to celebrate promotion.
