Damontae Kazee (born June 5, 1993 in San Bernardino , California ) is an American American football player in the position of safety in the National Football League (NFL). Here he plays for the Atlanta Falcons .

Early years

Kazee attended high school in the town of San Bernardino, where he was born. He later played football for San Diego State University .

NFL

Kazee was selected in the fifth round in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons in 149th place . On May 9, 2017, he signed a four-year contract with the Falcons. Prior to the season, he was appointed to the position of Free Safety to backup Ricardo Allen . He played in all 16 games in 2017 , one of them as a starter. In his first season, he managed to score two fumbles .

He started his second season as a backup for Strong Safety Keanu Neal . This injured himself on the first day of the season, so that Kazee was set as a regular player for the rest of the season. On the third game day he caught his first interception . Six more interceptions followed during the season; He was together with Kyle Fuller ( Chicago Bears ) and Xavien Howard ( Miami Dolphins ) one of the players with the most interceptions of the 2018 season (7).
