Ricardo Jamal Allen (* 18th December 1991 in Daytona Beach , Florida ) is an American American football player at the position of the safety in the National Football League (NFL). Here he currently plays for the Atlanta Falcons .

Early years

Allen attended high school in his native Daytona Beach. From October 16, 2009, he went to Purdue University .

NFL

Allen was selected 147th in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons . On May 18, 2014, he signed a four-year contract with the Falcons. On December 16, 2014, he was appointed to the 53-man squad from the Practice Squad . However, he did not play a game in the 2014 season . But just one season later, he became a regular player in the position of Free Safety . In his first game against the Philadelphia Eagles on the first day of the 2015 season , he made his first interception in the NFL. Two more interceptions followed by the end of the season. Allen was also in his position in the 2016 season . He completed all 16 games of the season as a starter and reached the Super Bowl LI with the Falcons , which was lost to the New England Patriots at 28:34 . In the 2018 season, Allen injured himself on the third day of the game against the New Orleans Saints , so that the season was over for him.
