Dan Croll (born July 18, 1990 in Newcastle-under-Lyme as Daniel Francis Croll ) is an English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who mostly records his studio albums himself.

At the age of 18, Croll moved to Liverpool to attend the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). During his LIPA time he won the “National Songwriter of the Year Award” from the “Musicians Benevolent Fund”.

Career

Dan Croll has been under contract with Turn First Records since early 2012 . His debut single, From Nowhere , was released for download on September 24, 2012 by Turn First / Racquet Records ( self-published ). Croll was dubbed New Band of the Day by the Guardian and described as “Paul Simon jamming with Prince. Very nice "( German  " A mixture of Paul Simon and Prince. Very good. " )

His second single, Compliment Your Soul , was released in March 2013.

This was followed in July 2013 by the single In / Out. On October 29, 2013, Croll announced in an interview with Virgin Radio that he had finished recording all the songs for his debut album, which will be released in the first quarter of the following year.

His song Compliment Your Soul can also be heard as the soundtrack in the soccer simulation game FIFA 2014 . Moreover, there is a remix of From Nowhere on the radio station Radio Mirror Park in Action Bestseller Grand Theft Auto V to be heard. This remix was also heard in the latest trailer for Grand Theft Auto V for the next-gen consoles and the PC.

In November 2013, Dan Croll announced that his debut album Sweet Disarray would be released on March 10, 2014.

From November to December 2013 he was on a European tour with the Imagine Dragons . His song From Nowhere can be heard in a Deichmann TV commercial ; likewise, in / out in a Thalys to hear advertising campaign.

He presented his second album Emerging Adulthood in 2017 at a number of European music festivals, followed by a North American tour starting in September with performances in Brooklyn , Washington DC, San Francisco, Montreal and Toronto.

According to the video interview at the PULS Open Air Festival, Croll recorded all of the instruments on his studio albums himself. He tours live with a five-piece band and appears on stage as a singing front man.
