The Town of Springdale is located in southern Wisconsin, in the south-western suburb of the capital, Madison . The intersection of the three states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota on the Mississippi is about 180 km west-northwest; to Illinois it is around 65 km south.

US Highways 18 and 151 run through the area of the Town of Springdale in a west-east direction on a shared four-lane section . The Wisconsin State Highway 92 runs through the southwest, the County Highway G through the southeast and the County Highway S through the northwest of the Town. All other roads are subordinate country roads and some unpaved roads.
A rail trail for hikers and cyclists runs parallel to the US 18 / US 151 road through the Military Ridge State Trail on the route of a former railway line of the Chicago and North Western Railway . In winter, the hiking trail can also be used with snowmobiles.
The nearest airport is Dane County Regional Airport in Wisconsin's capital Madison (around 35 km northeast).
