The Town of Westport is one of 34 Towns in Dane County in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 Westport had 3950 residents.

Westport is located in southern Wisconsin on the north shore of Lake Mendota , in the northern suburbs of the capital Madison . The intersection of the three states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota on the Mississippi is about 180 km west-northwest; to Illinois it is around 80 km south. The independent municipality of Waunakee is almost completely enclosed by the Town of Westport without belonging to it.
The coordinates of the geographic center of Westport are 43 ° 09'33 "north latitude and 89 ° 25'33" west longitude. It extends over an area of 70.5 km², which is spread over 57.5 km² of land and 13 km² of water.

Wisconsin State Highway 19 and Wisconsin State Highway 113 meet in Westport . Furthermore, the county highways K, M and Q run through the area of the town. All other roads are subordinate country roads and some unpaved roads.
A railway line of the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad , a regional ( Class II ) freight transport company, runs through Westport from northwest to southeast . The only passenger in the region is from Chicago circulating to the West Coast Empire Builder from Amtrak , which stops in Madison.
The nearest airport is Dane County Regional Airport in Wisconsin's capital Madison (around 10 km southeast).
