Danièle Nouy (born July 30, 1950 in Rennes ) is a French functionary.

She graduated from Sciences Po elite university (1971). In 1974 she joined the Banque de France , where her father worked.

In 1985 and 1996 she worked for the Banque de France in New York . From 1998 to 2003 she was Vice President of the Basel Committee . In 2006 she was the President of the Committee of the European Supervisory Authorities for the banking sector (Engl. Committee of European Banking Supervisors ).

Since 2010 she has been Secretary General of the French Banking and Insurance Supervision ( Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de resolution , ACPR).

Since January 1, 2014, it directs the newly created Unified banking supervision mechanism (Engl. Single supervisory mechanism , SSM) at the headquarters of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt , which has been operating since November 2014.

The European Parliament elected her to this position. The position is awarded for five years; re-election is not possible. Your German opponent was Elke König .
